Dr. Jacqueline Co is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical Health Science Center in Houston where she served as Chief Resident and received the Robert C. Morton, MD award for best teaching resident. Dr. Co is fellowship-trained in multiple ophthalmic specialties including Ocular Pathology at John Hopkins Medical School, Oculoplastic and Refractive Surgery at the University of Texas in Houston.
Dr. Co has been involved with refractive surgery since the mid 1990s and although she is experienced in almost all of the refractive surgery techniques being used today including: radial keratotomy (RK), anterior lamellar keratectomy (ALK), clear lens extraction with intraocular implants for severe high myopia, intracorneal ring implants (INTACT), and photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), she opts to perform laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis (LASIK) almost exclusively.
Dr. Co is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has a special interest and expertise in anterior segment surgery as well as eyelid reconstruction including the latest techniques of topical anesthesia cataract surgery, lens implantation, eyelid ptosis (droopy eyelid) repair, and cosmetic laser blepharoplasty.
Dr. Co is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Co has lectured extensively in the advanced techniques of topical anesthesia cataract surgery and intraocular implant at the Joint Commission and Allied Health Professional Organization (JCAHPO) as well as Southeast Asia. She is certified on both the VISX and Autonomous LADARVISION active eye tracker eximer lasers and has performed refractive surgery on patients from all walks of life.
Dr. Co is a native of Dallas who is an avid fan of the Cowboys and an experienced scuba diver.
